This year in spring I finally could take some pictures of a Squacco heron that stopped at a wetland near Linz for some days before it flew further north at least I believe so, since it was not seen at this place anymore. I had the luck that I managed to get really close to the bird, and eventhough the light situation was not the best anymore since it was during sunset when I took these pictures I could take some reasonable pictures of this beautiful bird. For me the Squacco heron is one of the most beautiful herons.

During this year I could photography several birds the first time in my live and also the Squacco heron is one of the birds I could take a picture for the first time this year. This next winter when I have a little more time to sit infront of the computer I will probably make an Index with the birds that I already photographed and some that I still miss but could probably be found here in Austria. Maybe I can concentrate on them a little better then and also find them.
