The Barn Swallows started their feeding time for their offspring and therefore they fly a lot from their home a farm nearby to several places where they can find insects, flies and other food for their offspring. It is nice watching them, and they have his beautiful blue shimmering feathers. But because they are very fast it is nearly impossible to take a picture of them in flight. I had the luck that one of them sat down on the branches of the tree in front of my window of my room and I took several pictures of it.

I tried to visit them at the farm but because there they only fly in and out under the roof it is not possible to take some pictures of them there. You need to find a spot where they rest or sit for some seconds for a good picture otherwise it is not really possible to get a nice shot of them. On the branch in front of my house it was definitely possible and I also had a decent sunlight that let the feathers shine.
The barn Swallows have 2 breeds every year and they can be found on all continents of the earth. In the Northern Continets (Europe, North America, Asia) they breed and in the southern continents they stay over the winter. (Africa, South America and Australia).
