I guess it is not possible to know the actual reason as to why Satoshi Nakamoto decided to move ahead with Proof Of Work protocol and not something else. The best guess I would think of is, it might be due to lack of other consensus protocols that were available at the time.
As we all know, to solve mathematical calculation via "Proof of Work" consensus protocol, we require expensive hardware and a lot of electricity. This is what bought forward "Proof of Stake" a different type of consensus protocol where one can earn just by holding coins in their Crypto wallet.
Among the different cryptocurrencies that provide a passive income following "Proof of Stake" protocol, one of the rewarding projects is BeetleCoin. You can stake BeetleCoin by holding it in your wallet. One can also earn node rewards by participating in their Tier Masternode program.
After spending the right amount of hours to enhance their platform, BeetleCoin team recently released new wallet v2.1.3.5. This release brings forth the following changes-
==> Fix For High CPU Usage.
==> Removed Default Port Enforcement.
==> New Protocol Version 70105 Implementation.
==> Implementation Of Spork 19 To Enforce The Latest Version.
One can download the latest wallet by visiting the link below-

The team also announced that the older versions of wallets are banned on Beets' network. So it makes sense to go ahead and upgrade your wallet unless you want to be left behind and be on the wrong chain.
