American Pale Ale

History:

Jack Cameron and Jared Proudfoot, both Scottish immigrants, came to Australia to hone their brewing skills. Jack started at Little Creatures Brewery and Jared at the Cheeky Monkey Brewery. They eventually established the Pirate Life Brewery at Hindmarsh in Adelaide, Australia in December 2014. The first beers were released in March 2015 and all are sold in the humble 'tinnie'. Why call the brewery 'Pirate Life'?

"We believe we live our life just like a pirate would, we are care free, relaxed and brew what we want to,” says Jack.

Drinkers Review:

I'm a massive fan of the beers from the Pirate Life brewery so I had to try this one when I came across it. Hopco is a Tasmanian hop supplier so Pirate Life brewery formed a partnership with this company to showcase NZ hops for this brew.

Essentially, this is a yummy easy drinking pale. From a tinnie, this brew pours a lovely gold with a touch of amber, with a thin white head. It tastes light sweet, with a medium bitter finish with a slightly tanginess. Initially this brew seems very hoppy, but once you get it down your gullet, it is actually a pretty well rounded brew. I enjoyed the 6 pack I had on a hot summers day, but it is not the best drop I have tasted from this brewery. Try it out for something different, but if you haven't had a Pirate Life beer, start with another from their range of delectable delights!
