North Coast Brewing Company of Fort Bragg, California brews a strong stout of the type originally made in Britain for export to the Russian imperial court. Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout is not for the faint of heart.
Stats: 9% ABV, 75 IBU
An aggressive dark-roasted malt flavor make it quite distinct compared to the porters and stouts anyone might typically encounter. It's like someone took a good stout and cranked all the defining attributes to 11. If you like dark beer, give this a try! It's certainly not something one would chug in quantity throughout a sports event though.
