My hometown has been celebrating these 9 days with so much faith and fun. The entire city is lit up in colorful little bulbs. These are the last few days of the Navratri and goddesses are being immersed.
I came back today at 6 am and was super tired. I had tons of work to complete, so I couldn't sleep. I finished off my work, had lunch and drove straight to the temple to see what real beauty is.
I was always fascinated with these immersion processions. Weather it's rain or snow( it doesn't snow here) I make sure that I am there to witness the beauty the organisers have put into it. Tommorow there is a grand procession that includes around 50 tableaus, some trucks loaded with humans painted as tigers and of course 10 idols of goddess Durga in her different avatars. Tommorow is the day when the entire city, irrespective of their caste and religion, would be on the roads to witness this grand procession that would take several hours to reach it's destination.
I am all excited and so are my kids. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, but sadly, there has never been an instance when it has not rained during this procession. If possible, I would surely click pics and keep you guys posted.
