Exploring the beach at Wildwood State park....
Walk from the parking lot is down a steep concrete road older than me, trust me that is old.
The concrete must have been made well because it still is all original.
looking down to the beach ...
Looking up, standing in same spot ...
View at end of road ...
Modern Pavilion for beach goers ..
More walking down a sandy slope ...
Off to the right signs are ignored to keep off the sandy bluffs ...
Many rocks and boulders strewn along the beach. dropped off from a glacier when it retreated thousands of years ago.
Some as big as garages ...
Interesting sites along the bluffs as well as the beach with all it's different kind of rocks...
Looking back to the Pavilion ...
Occasional large boulder off shore ...
Cliff / Bluff erosion ...
The 767 acre park must have a 2 mile long beach. A great place to be alone with nature in a crowded suburban area.
Sun setting early in November making photography a challenge...
Tide was low and still going down. Flat rock puddle shows how high the water was.
This rock looks like nice pink granite, the kind kitchen counters are made from ...
It also had a lighter color vein going throw it ...
I am by no means an expert on rocks, but just enjoy the beauty, diversity of color and texture ...
Mother of all the rocks ... 🤣
Large boulder on face of bluff that will eventually roll to the beach from erosion ... Don't know when but it will happen ...
There is a break in the bluff where it ends. A small pond with a stream connects to the sea...
More to see on this beach with character that never gets boring ... Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as enjoyed showing them...
