Imagine an adult version of 'BIG' with a theme of 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' and an undercurrent of 'Final Destination,' and you may get slightly close to what this book entails.
About The Empress Returns.
This book is part one of a pentalogy (A series of five books) from 'The Penny Drop Collection,' and is written in first person, as a young man named Lewis; a man who has to deal with some devastating home truths and work out the madness behind the strange happenings that are occurring in his life.
About Lewis
Lewis is a passive sole who retells his experience from one year prior. He narrates the story from the perspective of a young, northern, working class man, and he doesn't hold back on his thoughts. Up until the day his father left, he had never really experienced heartache, and had a relatively happy, average life. After becoming depressed and developing a hatred for life, he finds he has one saviour, the one friend who doesn't give up on him, Craig.
And it is that very same friend that sets the karmic wheel in motion...when he takes him to Blackpool
The Story
'The Empress Returns,' is not a story for the faint-hearted. It is relatively thought provoking and hits on taboo areas which unleash undiluted reactions, ones that you would find in today's world.
You may find periods throughout this story that are extremely liberating and some that hit your solar plexus with that sinking feeling of relativity.
I went through every emotion when I wrote this book and used every bit of my relativity and experience to cover the most taboo elements of the story.
This novel is about revenge and truth, a karmic wheel that is out of control. The question is, can Lewis gain control the wheel, or does fate have other ideas?
