ASUS has launched a series of new products during the IFA 2019 event. In addition to the VivoWatch SP, new ProArt StudioBook series notebooks and a ProArt Display monitor have also arrived, aiming to beat every HDR record. The ZenBook Duo we had already seen at Computex, those with a ScreenPad Plus secondary display, have also been reintroduced for the European market.
ASUS ProArt StudioBook Notebook
The new range of ASUS ProArt StudioBook professional workstations aims to satisfy all the needs of creators, gamers and those who work seriously with audio, video, and images. The leader is called StudioBook Pro X and boasts a very powerful hardware, at the top of the notebook category: Intel Xeon series processor and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 video card , ECC memory up to 128 GB and 17 ″ display in 16:10 with a extreme optimization of the frames, for a screen-to-body ratio of up to 92%. In addition, there is also the secondary ScreePad 2.0 display included in the touchpad below the keyboard. The other 4 models also have top-end hardware, with different configurations depending on the version. The new ProArt StudioBook series includes 5 models, with 15 "or 17" screens, all equipped with Windows 10.
Thanks to the use of a new Vortex Fan cooling system, designed for the occasion, ProArt StudioBook notebooks can use all their power without heating and without increasing the sound produced by the fans. The noise level at maximum power reaches no more than 39 dB, for a silent experience in all conditions of use. The build quality is also excellent: the metal body has military-grade certification, so it is possible to use these products even in extreme conditions.
The software certifications - including those for Adobe and AutoDesk products - and the quality of the screen calibrated to ensure faithful color rendering and complete support for the DCI-P3 color space should also be mentioned. In addition, there is also the SmartSync technology, which allows remote control via smartphone, and the suite of software tools ProArt Creator Center, which allows you to better manage every aspect of the user experience.
ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG Monitor
The series ProArt also includes a very high-quality monitor, the unprecedented ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG. We are talking about a 4K Ultra HD resolution panel with one of the most advanced HDR technologies in the industry, called HDR 1600. This compares with a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, while the standard brightness reaches 1,000 nits. The panel is made with Quantum Dot technology, supports 10-bit depth and has new generation local dimming.
To underline the support to all the main standards for image quality: Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR 10. Color spaces can be easily set via ICC profiles, with presets already included and ready to use. Good news also for the gaming section, thanks to a variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz and an optimized game mode.
ASUS ZenBook Duo
Of ASUS ZenBook Duo and ZenBook Pro Duo, we had already spoken in May in this article, in the course of Computex. For those unfamiliar with them, these are laptops with truly original design: in addition to the main 4K HDR OLED screen, they also feature a secondary ScreenPad Plus display, located right above the keyboard. Both support the use of the nib, supplied in the package. When the screen is raised, the lower part raises automatically, providing a good angle of inclination, particularly useful for typing in a more comfortable way. This mechanism, called ErgoLift, is completed thanks to the use of wrist rest, included in the package.
ZenBook Pro Duo comes with high-end specifications, with a processor Intel Core i9 the 10th generation and dedicated video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, which supports the new NVIDIA Driver Studio. The ZenBook Duo technical data sheet is slightly less valuable, presenting itself with 10th generation Intel Core i7 and dedicated NVIDIA MX 250 video card. Both have a cooling system specifically optimized for these models, thanks also to the aluminum body designed to ensure good dissipation.
Output and price
The products of the ProArt series, both notebook, and monitor will be available for selected markets by Q4 2019, therefore between October and December. We will have to wait until the Christmas season for the ZenBook Duo, which should also arrive in our country. We will keep you updated over the next few months if there is any news.
