My birthday present to an amazing woman! (Pencil portrait)

Hello once again steemit family! I made this symbolic portrait for a great woman to mark her...guess what birthday 😊. Well it was her 70th.

Officer Akinyemi is probably the most selfless person, she could give her heart away. You can hardly tell that she is is respected airforce officer because of how humble she is. She is a retired airforce nurse who still uses her training to bless lives especially in my church and she has always been there medically for my family since I can remember.

It was almost compulsory for me to make something for her and this idea that had been cooking in my mind for a while came up, and I spaced away for 7 days to get it done. It took a lot of brainstorming and decision making before and during the process. I'm glad it turned out great and she really appreciated it too.

Here's some progress shots

At this point I didn't really sense in it too 😀, all I knew was the image had to be embedded in the number 70 and it had to have a torn paper effect

Most of the head tie was done with graphite pencils and as usual I used a brush and some charcoal powder to layer the forehead, after which I did details with an electric eraser and graphite pencils.
