Kidnapping of santa - illustration

santaeste.jpg

a country where Christmas was snatched by an evil fat donkey -no feelings-.

He fed on hunger, and fear of people, his tyranny caused thousands of families throughout the territory to separate ... Christmas was not the same again.

children saying goodbye to their mothers, parents saying goodbye to their children, all in search of a better future.

The drawing came unexpectedly (that's why I do not have a wide photographic record) talking with some friends about this sad Christmas 2018-2019. Where we have to share with our families by video call, I have 20 relatives self-exiled abroad (not counting friends) who make the sacrifice of abandoning everything they worked for in their life here in Venezuela, in search of a better future ( security, freedom of expression, food, medicines) in search of basic needs.

The dictator has even taken away the joy of sharing family time, there is no greater pain than having fired a loved one without the certainty that it will be good, or WHEN we will see him again.

Initially I was going to illustrate more literally the dictator of venezuela kidnapping san nicolas, however that went against my beliefs ... I feel that art has the power to change the world, so there must be a care in the creation of the visual image, Portraying this character is somehow making him live eternally and murderers like the one they must in some way do it.
