Character Concept - The Beginnings of a Comic - Original Art

"Sarah & Bonnie" Two of the Heroines of I Thought It Would Be Zombies...

I've been slowly developing a comic book by the name of "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." It's a post apocalyptic fantasy adventure that I hope will be a fun and entertaining romp that spans across a variety of genres.

Gradually building a list of artists to follow on Steemit has been inspirational. It's great to see the productivity and work ethic on display here from the growing art community.

Here's the beginning of my own character design posts. As I progress on this project and settle in a bit more on Steemit, I'll be happy to provide tutorials and any information I can if folks are interested. For this piece I used the Clip Studio Paint software. It was formerly known as Manga Studio before being recently rebranded. I'm still experimenting with looks and production methods between Clip Studio, Photoshop, and hand drawn work. By the time I've cranked out more concept art and finished scripting the first story arc, I will hopefully have nailed down my process for the story pages!

Many of my characters are based on friends (with permission!) It really helps to have a starting point in order to build fully realized characters. In the end they may diverge quite a bit from the real life individuals... the story drives everything! It also keeps the task fun and engaging and a lot of people love to be included.

Take care!
