"One field" / Chinese Painting of a Lily

Good afternoon dear friends of Steemit. Today I share with you a painting of Lilies that I just finished, which is called "One field", and refers to a field of flowered lilies, where only one is visible for being in a rocky area.

To make this painting I used only the following materials:

  • Chinese brushes.
  • Chinese ink colors.
  • Special sheet of paper for ink.

Painting process:

The first thing I did was to paint the elongated leaves of the lily with green ink and a fine brush.

Then with a thicker brush, I painted the base of the rocky earth, for later give it depth and much more color.

Then, with black Chinese ink and with some brown ink, I painted the areas where there is more darkness, thus achieving greater depth. In turn I delineated the surface where the lily is and I added more small plants with the same ink and the same brush that I used for the lily.

After all this, I painted the flowers with pink ink and the stem that holds them with black ink and a fine brush.

And finally I added a short poem to the painting, which means "One field", as well I signed the painting already finished with my name in Chinese "Ricardo".
