Some more pictures of the sweet ground squirrels

Ground squirrels are probably one of my favorite animals and I am always happy when I can visit and see them in Lower Austria, Vienna or in Burgenland. During spring and summer time I always make 2-3 or even more trips to this region and I take pictures of these wonderful creatures. They are very photogenic and it is always fun aking pictures of them. These animals live in small caves they build under the meaddow and come out during the day to enjoy the sunlight and search for food in the meaddow. They especially like seeds, grass and nuts.

When Stefan and I visit the ground squirrels we often have some really nice breakfast in Vienna with also some nice dessert. I know unusual in the morning but they offer so many good things that I often get weak and need to buy it.
