In spring this year was on a photography trip with Stefan near the Krems River, there we found a nice cornfield where the corn plants started to grow in the field. Several Lapwings were flying and walking around in the cornfield, so we decided to hide on one side of the field for some lapwings to come closer. And we had luck, one of them came really close. It was a bit nervous all the time, running up and down the field and started to chirp. So we knew it probably has its nest with the eggs very close, that's why we only did few pictures and left this place pretty fast afterward, so we don't disturb the bird too much.

I think the lapwings are beautiful birds with their colorful feathers on the side that sparkle in the sunlight in different colors. They are pretty good at flying, and they have a very nice distinctive sound so you can distinguish their sound from all the other bird sounds.
