My original vocation was in engineering and all things mechanical, but I soon learn to put those hand skills to use in other fields, shown below is a traditional wheelbarrow that I made to instructions from the Amish who are still making things today as they were in the mid 1800's. The wheel was built by myself and the knowledge gained as I explained earlier from a wonderful guy retired and now in his mid 80's and retired wheelwright still living in Newark England.
The sides are removeable so that it can then be used as a flat bogie for more awkward cargo's and replaced again in a few seconds, we use this a lot in our allotment today, and one benefit is, no punctures in this wheel.
Today I can teach these and many other skills to others, because a plethora of other old timers shared their free time and patience to show me, this is how we remain stable as a society, and in my humble opinion, our futures depend upon the things we create, and we will live or die by the things we make.
