Always render a helping hand because you don't know the day you will need the same hand.
Firstly, I want to appreciate @altruistic community for putting up this contest. Intrestingly, the title of the contest was just my recent experience as I rendered a helping hand to someone and the impact of the help was felt immensely.
THIS WAS THE HELP
source
I rendered this help to a friend of mine. His name is Patrice Billion. He's a business man and a Father of 2. We also attend the same church. He's the C.E.O of Metrocast (his own company), and they are into graphics, printing of fliers, flex banners, branding of vehicles and T-Shirts etc.
On this fateful day, he had numerous jobs he was supposed to deliver to his Clients which were flex banners but he was printing them at different locations just so he could meet up the deadlines. We both live in the same city, but he had to travel to another city, that was where one of the numerous jobs he was doing was been done. All though the job delayed a little, so he had to wait for it to be ready.
Finally, all his jobs were ready at their different locations but he could only be in one place at a particular time. So he took a bus and was coming back to Asaba (the city we reside in) to pick up his other job.
This was already 5pm (Nigeria time) but unfortunately for him, he was held up in a major traffic at a particular bridge called Niger bridge (a very long one at that; infact that is the only major route that connected both cities) and the traffic lasted an hour and even more. After he saw that time was going to be against him, he then called me.
THE HELP PROPER
(The Job)
After he told me all that was happening and explained everything to me, he then pleaded with me to help him go get the other job from the printing press which I responded to immediately. Though I was very busy at the time but I didn't mind because he had done much more for me. As soon as I got there, the job was already waiting for me,then I picked the job and even went the extra mile mile to ensure the Job was HUNGED UP.
(THE EXTRA MILE I WENT TO GET IT HUNGED)
WHY DID I HELP
This was the reason: We had a church programme in Lagos State in the year 2011, so we had to travel (about 6-7 hours drive from the city we reside). I went to the program by faith (in other words, I only went with my transport fare for just going). I had no Idea where I would sleep, how i will feed and how to even come back, but he singled handedly took care of all those things. Infact he had to give up his hotel room for me to sleep in. That, i don't take likely.
Thank you
