My Actifit Report Card: February 19 2020

It was really nice weather today with some blue sky and no rain. I rode my e-bike over to the disc golf course and played 45 baskets in two rounds of eighteen and one of nine. I think I scored a plus five or a fifty nine on both rounds.

There were three of us playing on the first two rounds but one person left after the first round and we gained a person for the second.

One the last nine basket round I played with one other friend. He was practicing his forehand throw and tried it on basket eight which was right by the river. Usually he does really good backhand on this basket but forehand he had some trouble and his Thunderbird disc faded hard right into the river. The river is shallow here so he may yet get it back but the water is pretty muddy and we could not find it.

I did manage to find a Boss disc in another part of the course. It is pretty messed up around the edges like something was chewing on it or perhaps a lawn mower ran over it. My friends didn't think it was worth saving but I wanted it and thought it was a good find.

It is a nice heavy 175 gram over-stable disc and I think it will fly a bit less stable because of all the damage. I threw it once and liked the way it flew. I've cleaned up the edges and sanded them a bit so they are not as rough.

I think this disc will be just perfect for practicing throwing into a headwind on difficult baskets near the river. I often don't want to throw a disc that I like a lot because I worry about it going into the river. (Which is most of my bag.)

Behold my new "Don't fear the river!" disc:

With this disc I should be able to learn to commit to throwing my line with enough force to get it to go closer to the basket. (Or it might go into the river, lol) It's nice to have a disc your not that worried about throwing sometimes.

I have another Blizzard Champion Boss disc but it is much lighter at 138 grams and is not that great of a wind fighting disc. I hope the heavier version will work better. (Maybe I'm just not used to throwing that light a disc, most of my bag is around 170 grams.)
