🇫🇷 Comme chaque année les baleines à bosse sont de retour au Cap-vert, lieu important de la migration des baleines à bosse de l'Atlantique Nord. C'est l'occasion pour nous de proposer des sortie en mer "Whales Watching" à notre clientèle. Voici ici quelques courtes explications de la vie et des comportements de ces cétacés sous forme de "Le saviez-vous" !!	🇬🇧 As every year, humpback whales are back in Cape Verde, an important place for the migration of humpback whales from the North Atlantic. 🇫🇷 Le saviez-vous 1 : Le parcours de la migration des baleines à bosse se mesure à hauteur de 7000km aller simple. Entre 12000 et 15000 km aller-retour entre les mois de janvier et juin. Durant cette migration, les baleines partent de la zone entre le Groenland et l'Islande, passe par Les Açores et Madère pour se reposer avant de terminer leur migration aux îles du Cap-Vert.	🇬🇧 Did you know 1: The migration route of humpback whales is 7,000km one-way. Between 12,000 and 15,000 km round trip between the months of January and June. During this migration, the whales leave from the area between Greenland and Iceland, passing through the Azores and Madeira to rest before completing their migration to the Cape Verde Islands.

🇫🇷 Le saviez-vous 2 : Au Cap-vert, il n'y a pas de nourriture, ou quasiment pas, pour les baleines à bosse. Cela signifie qu'elles se lancent dans une migration incroyable pour rallier un endroit où il n'y a rien à manger. Elles resteront ainsi 4 à 6 mois avec une alimentation extrêmement réduite. Les baleines perdent ainsi près de 25% de leur poids soit environ 5 à 8 tonnes.	🇬🇧 Did you know 2: In Cape Verde, there is no or almost no food for humpback whales. 🇫🇷 Le saviez-vous 3 : Les baleines à bosse rejoignent les zones tropicales afin de donner naissance à leur baleineau dans des eaux tempérées. En effet si la naissance devait se produire dans les eaux froides de l'Atlantique Nord, le bébé pourrait ne pas résister et mourir rapidement. Par la suite, les mâles suivant les femelles, des scènes de reproduction auront lieu. La gestation durant 12 mois environ, la synchronisation est parfaite pour une migration aller-retour et une mise bas l'année suivante.

🇬🇧 Did you know 3: Humpback whales travel to tropical areas to give birth to their calves in temperate waters. Ce sera alors l'heure pour lui d'entamer sa première migration vers le Nord. La fatigue, les tempêtes, les orques, feront que seulement 50% de ces bébés parviendront à destination...	🇬🇧 Did you know 4: A calf weighs about 700kg and measures around 4m at birth!! 🇫🇷 Le saviez-vous 5 : Si les baleines sautent, ce n'est pas pour jouer ou pour faire beau sur les photos! Certains sauts permettent de nettoyer le corps de l'animal. D'autres sont des avertissements à prendre très au sérieux pour les prédateurs. D'autres permettent de communiquer entre baleines. Evidemment des sauts peuvent aussi être exécuter pour montrer à une femelle les intentions bien fixes d'un mâle. Enfin, lorsque une femelle, accompagnée de son bébé, saute, c'est pour éduquer son jeune qui reproduira le geste après sa mère.

Lorsqu'un mâle décide de presser une femelle déjà accompagné d'un bébé, c'est un gros danger pour le bébé. Le mâle obsédé par son objectif peut heurter le bébé et ainsi donne un coup d'un animal de 30 tonnes sur un animal de 2 tonnes. Certains en meurent. Si tout se passe bien pour le bébé, il restera environ 2 à 3 ans autour de sa mère.
