Payouts are done every 24 hours if your profit is at least 0.001 SBD or 0.001 STEEM. Your profit balance is increased every time a vote requester sends a payment. In can by increased by, for example, 0.0000004 SBD. Once those increases sums up to 0.001 - the payout can be done.
One of the coolest @tipU features for investors is that you can customize your payout. You do this by sending 0.001 SBD or 0.001 STEEM to @tipU with one of the commands listed below.
This option allows you to automatically reinvest selected part of your payout in order to further increase your share in the profits. Now, if you know what a compound interest is, you probably understand why this feature is really sweet, especially for long term investments. I'm especially proud of this one :)
Example: let's say that your 2000 SP delegation to @tipU gives you 0.5 SBD and 0.5 STEEM payout every day. If you choose to reinvest 100% of your payout, every day your delegation will be increased by around 1.1 STEEM (0.5 STEEM + 0.5 SBD in STEEM value in current market prices). So after 10 days additional 11 STEEM POWER will be added to your delegation, giving a total of 2011 SP delegated. Of course with each new day your delegation will grow further.
On top of that - you can withdraw your auto-reinvested part at any time without any fees. The auto-reinvested part is added to your deposit so you can just receive it back. To do this simply send 0.001 SBD/STEEM to @tipU with memo: withdraw

If you choose to receive payouts in one currency, the other currency part will be traded before the payout to the one of your choosing at current market prices. All data will be provided in the payout memo.
