This video features “Flip Flop Fly” by The Blues Brothers. It’s probably a song about doing drugs.

The original bass part is probably not important to the audience or other musicians in Jazz Derelicts. Other than the solo break, the exact bass part is written out. It’s not exactly easy and has required lots of practice just to do what I do know.

I listened to live versions of “Flip Flop Fly” and the bass player is also playing the same written part I have. I also want to play it as written because it’s healthy for finger dexterity. The OG bass player is a master. An audience member once side I look like the guy.

Bass: Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe 4 String… also known as “Bread and Butter.” when I was a full-time musician I used this bass for long periods of time. I modified it for longevity. Light strings, heavy mass bridge, low action, grenade launcher, thick strap, and very useful controls (even when broken).
