Every Easter, I feel the need to make a public service announcement because the confusion is real. Rabbits do not lay eggs. Not yesterday, not today, not ever. Yes, there are a few funky mammals out there that lay eggs, but bunnies are absolutely not part of that club.
So when you see my Easter dĆ©cor full of birds and colorful eggs, just know Iām keeping it biologically correct over here. Those cute pastel eggs? Bird eggs. Not bunny eggs. The Easter Bunny is basically the courier here, not the one making the product.
It cracks me up every time. Weāve all just accepted this idea of a rabbit handing out eggs it couldnāt possibly produce. Imagine explaining that with a straight face. āNo, the bunny doesnāt lay them. Yes, it still brings them. No, I donāt know why. It just does.ā Easter bunnies do not lay eggs!
Anyway, consider this my friendly reminder: Easter bunnies do not lay eggs. The birds are doing all the work, and Iām giving them the spotlight they deserve. LOL.
These colored eggs are the birds' eggs, LOL!
I picked it up anyway and brought it home. I replanted it, gave it some water, some light, and a little care. Now itās pushing out new leaves. Iām pretty sure itās a Christmas cactus, but whatever it is, itās tough. Watching it bounce back has been a small reminder that a little care can go a long way.
I finally planted the ForgetāMeāNot seeds that gave me, and I put them in the flamingo planter she also gifted me.
It takes about 8 to 10 days for them to germinate, so now itās just a waiting game. I planted around ten seeds because Iām expecting only a 20% to 30% germination rate. As soon as theyāre strong enough, Iāll move them to a bigger pot. ForgetāMeāNots can grow up to 15 to 18 inches tall, so theyāll need more space.
For now, theyāre tucked into their little flamingo home, and Iām hoping at least a few will survive.
All photos were taken by me with my iPhone.
I hope to see you again soon!
