Yesterday I celebrated my 46th birthday, although I certainly don't feel that age. I still feel like a young guy in his twenties—except that I have a son who is almost that old himself, haha! My younger son is already 15 and a half years old.
Although birthdays are always nice and fun, they sometimes make me feel nostalgic about times that have already passed and that I might have spent better with my children, even though they are happy and grateful regardless of everything.
We celebrated my birthday at home, where we had cake and coffee together.
Later, I went to visit a friend who recently opened a pizzeria in town. It has already become very popular because he trained in Naples and learned the craft there. He mastered the art of making the perfect pizza, especially the dough, which is the most important part.
The desserts are amazing as well—tiramisu, pancakes filled with a secret sweet cream that tastes like vanilla and coconut, absolutely delicious. And of course, there was cheesecake.
They surprised me with a cheesecake topped with a birthday candle.
They quietly sneaked up behind me and suddenly started singing "Happy Birthday to You." It was such a touching moment that it's almost impossible to put into words.
I had a pizza with kulen and burrata, while my wife chose a classic mixed pizza.
My son and nephew shared a half-kulen, half-mixed pizza with burrata.
For dessert, we had the pancakes and the surprise cheesecake.
Wow, I ate so much that I could barely breathe afterwards, but it was worth it because everything was absolutely delicious.
I didn't want to leave a single bite on my plate because I hate wasting food.
To drink, I had a beer—after all, it was my birthday!
My wife had a small beer since she was driving, while the kids enjoyed orange juice and Coca-Cola.
I can't wait to go back for now, it's the best pizza I've ever tasted in my life.
