The team journeyed to the Cotati's hidden realm, where Drax humorously served as Mantis's mount. Peter's attempt at flirting was quickly diverted as Groot used his unique nature to open a secret entrance. Their progress was soon halted by a falling rock that damaged their path across a frozen bridge.
Drax not only started following the command of Mantis, he even became a mount for her. He carried her on his back without any protest, which looked incredibly funny to the rest of the team. It was a rare moment of submission for the usually stubborn warrior.
All of them were heading somewhere specific when the group crossed some local priests and their children. The atmosphere was calm as these figures moved past, seemingly indifferent to the presence of the interstellar travelers who were busy navigating through the strange, colorful environment.
Then all of them reached the specific place that Mantis had mentioned earlier. She explained that this was where the Cotati take root, a sacred and hidden location filled with ancient biological energy. The surroundings were dense with flora that felt alive.
Suddenly, Peter tried to flirt with Mantis, mentioning that they are partners in some sort of alternative universe. However, Gamora messed it up and shut down the conversation quickly. They focused on the path ahead to avoid any further distractions.
Mantis mentioned that the Cotati take their duty of staying hidden quite seriously. Their only hope of entering was to appeal to their wisdom, especially when Peter asked if they could tempt the unguarded.
That was when Groot performed his magic and communicated directly with the environment.
The secret entrance opened up for them following Groot's intervention. He could do it because the Cotati are essentially like Groot, though Rocket jokingly called them lame. They are also plant people who share a deep, rooted connection to the spiritual and physical world.
After getting inside the hidden area, Peter mentioned they were looking for something that was going to help Drax. We started walking ahead through a massive frozen bridge.
Suddenly, a heavy rock fell on the bridge from above without warning. The impact caused a massive hole to form right in the middle of the path, stopping the group in their tracks.
