You may have noticed that most of my blog posts are about work, deadlines, team issues, wins, and little frustrations here and there. I think this has become my way of checking in with myself, reminding myself that I’m actually doing a good job, even when things feel heavy. At the same time, it’s also how I release stress. Writing about the negative parts of work feels a bit like therapy for me, so thank you for reading and staying with me through those moments.
But since it’s Sunday, I want to balance things out and talk about positivity. For me, Sunday is not about productivity, it’s about recovery. This is the day I try to slow down, breathe, and think about things that make life feel lighter.
Sunday is my self care day. It’s the day to eat something simple but healthy, to enjoy a good drink, and not rush through every meal like it’s another task to finish. It’s also the day to plan small, happy things, maybe watching a movie, going outside to feel the sun, or just staying in bed a bit longer without feeling guilty.
Sometimes it’s as simple as shopping for a few things I need, or fixing small things at home so my weekday self will thank my Sunday self later. These little actions make me feel that I’m taking care not just of my work life, but my whole life.
There’s a quote I really like, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” – Anne Lamott
I hope today, you give yourself permission to unplug a little. May your Sunday be filled with rest, good food, small joys, and a calmer mind, so we can all face the new week with a lighter heart.
