Creators on Hive use AI in many different ways — from simple grammar fixes to translations, to thumbnail images, to brainstorming and research. Many believe these tools help produce clearer, more accessible, and more polished content.
And many Hive communities have different expectations around AI. All communities would appreciate transparency.
So PeakD is introducing a simple, optional, standardized way for creators to share how (or if) AI assisted a post. We welcome other interfaces to integrate this SIMPLE system as well.
This supports transparency without dictating how anyone should vote or create.
In the post editor (under Advanced Settings) you can optionally mark:
It’s completely optional.
You can still describe your AI usage inside the post if you want — this tool simply gives an additional standardized way to show it.
Give credit where it’s due.
This tool helps authors highlight what was created by them and what was assisted.
The redesigned Post Header now includes an information icon that reveals any AI usage the author chose to disclose.
From a technical point the integartion of this new feature with the Hive blockchain is pretty straightforward. All the details are stored in the post json metadata in this form:
{
ai_tools: {
media_generation: true,
post_draft: true,
research: true,
...
}
}
All Hive social frontends can support this new standard and everyone can reach out to our team to suggest improvements and extend the list of supported options.
Hive includes a wide range of perspectives:
This tool is not a statement — just an option to help users display credit.
Interpretation belongs to communities and voters.
Regardless, most all agree that giving credit for assistance is simply good practice.
If you are using AI, we hope you use it responsibly to make better content on Hive.
AI can help:
If you do use these tools.... We hope these tools help you create content that brings more people to PeakD and to Hive.
We are fully aware that this feature will not be used by blatant abusers.
Those who want to hide full-AI posts won’t check any boxes. This isn’t a policing tool.
It’s designed to support honest users, curious communities, and better content — helping everyone get the transparency they want to make decisions.
