DNGO books specifically aims to incentivize people to collectively create multilingual audiobook archive, mainly to serve visually impaired people. DNGO Books is also based on Fair Share Script.
According to project owner, they are going to include books and author names dynamically through code, I took a look at different book names to see their lenghts. There are book names with only one or two short words while there are six to seven words.. So place for the book title couldn’t be fixed amount, it wouldn’t work if I limit it to only two lines or so.. I decided to keep it clean and simple while populating with the project’s logo as a border, seperator or watermark. It looks elegant with this simplicity and won’t cause any overlapping texts. It will help with readiblily in small sizes such in Book search page and Book detail page..
I also exported every layer separetly so developers can easily apply those dynamically with their code.
As fonts, I used Montserrat which can be easily used as a webfont from Google.
As proportioning,
Title is Montserrat Regular with 10x font size
Author is Monsterrat Bold with 8x font size
I tried many variations through process, like centering the text for example and it wasn’t working with every custom title so it would be better to use these text areas as left aligned.. Tried to apply dngo logo as a backgrpund pattern but since those title and author will be applied later dynamically those patterns had a potential to hurt readibility so in the end best choices were left. Vertically centered, left aligned text with different font weight and sizes to differentiate author name and book title.
