Aside all these, I hate the dry season because it affects my sleep and that in turn affects my productivity to some extent. Here in Ghana, we have just two seasons all year round. The dry season ask the wet season and as their names suggest, you know what it looks like. When we are in the dry season, it’s as dry as dry can be and the temperature is very high. And when we are in the wet season, it’s more like the times of Noah’s ark.
In this month of June, we happen to find ourselves in the wet season out here and Ghana and if there’s anyone enjoying this weather, it has to be me. This dawn, I managed to have a very good beauty sleep, thanks to the rains. And throughout today, the weather has been really cool. However, in another part of Ghana, people are out there struggling.
I live in the capital city of Ghana which is Accra but my work and other things takes me around. Currently, I’m living in a different city but I hear news of what’s going on in my city Accra. The rains have been very massive out there and the issue of flooding is one we are still battling with in some parts of Ghana. Just that week alone, we have had reports of so many communities getting flooded due to the constant rains. And aside flooding, we’ve all recorded one case of fire outbreak which lead to so many people losing their businesses and homes.
Sadly, this issue has been one we have been battling for years yet the story remains the same. I do love the rainy season but seeing so people go through a hard time in times like this, I wish the dry season comes faster but my bigger wish is that the system gets fixed and we all get to live happily every after.
