When I see prompts like this concerning modern medicine and their side effects, I tend to appreciate traditional or natural remedies and medicines more because they have little or no side effects when taken over time, at least, none that I'm aware of though I find it funny when I see a modern medicine worker patronizing herbs, lol.
As much as I know there are good herbs that have been saving lives, has even saved mine, I can't deny that the evolution of modern medicine shouldn't be taken for granted. They have also discovered good drugs, cures and remedies for diseases that are mysterious for herbs to find and work on them. But there is also the dark side.
For someone who have had stomach problems for over 6 years until I got the final cure to it some months back, I've had to take a lot of drugs from painkillers to "supposed" cures that didn't do much but my system began to resist them over time. As much as the drugs were made with the intention to cure, they have scary side effects.
During those times that I had to keep taking pain killers if I needed to make good use of my day, I remember how I had to mix some drugs together or use a new brand of painkiller instead so I could feel the effect and be relieved of the pain. What I didn't think was that my body was slowly resisting what worked for me before until later.
Recently, I also heard of a sad truth about the drugs for high BP, diabetics and some other illnesses that are connected and when taken for a long period of time causes more damages to the body. It's really sad that the medications created with hopes of curing diseases and bringing people back to good health are dangers.
It's even more sad that some medical personnels know the side effects of drugs but awareness is created enough about them to limit the number of people it will affect, just because they want more gains from people who keep falling sick. My last visit to an hospital was a good example, they kept giving me drips to calm the ulcer down
It wasn't working but they kept giving it to me until I was taken away for another solution. I remember taking countless ulcer medication for the same symptoms they say it was but none worked, I wasn't sure if it was my body resisting or it really wasn't ulcer until I found the real issue my stomach was having and I got treated better.
Mind you, I had to go the traditional way to get treated and it worked so well. Of course, I'd be tempted to say modern medicine got a whole lot of work to do especially the medicine research team. The side effects of so many drugs are real and can be fatal for some patients, it's a situation that should be treated with urgency for humanity.
