Greetings everyone, I welcome you all to my blog.
It's another great day to listen to the word of God by his servant Bro Eli Soriano
To be a true disciple of Christ, we must live according to His word and teachings. This is the main requirement for anyone who desires to be called His disciple.
If we refuse to obey His teachings as believers, then we are not worthy to be called His disciples, and we cannot genuinely call Him our Lord.
Luke 6:46 says, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
This verse reminds us that obedience to His word is essential before we can be recognized as His disciples. Without obedience, we cannot truly be counted among them.
It is also important to understand that not all disciples are apostles, but every apostle is a disciple.
Luke 6:13 states, “And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles.”
From this, we see that Jesus had many disciples, but He selected only twelve from among them and named them apostles. This shows that while many followed Him, only a few were chosen for the special role of apostleship.
However, anyone who consistently practices His word and follows His teachings can be called His disciple. The true qualification of a disciple is obedience to His doctrine and lifestyle.
2 Timothy 3:10 says, “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience.”
This scripture teaches us the qualities required to be known as His disciple. These virtues represent the standard we must follow in order to truly belong to Him.
