Recently, I've been reading 2 books written by Yuval Noah Harari. I used 3 months to finish "Sapiens". Honestly, it is my first time to finish such a thick book. There are books on my shelf bought long ago but remained unfinished. But "Sapiens" is an exception. The books greatly changed my perception towards the world. Norms and cultures are not constant but every-changing. There was a period of time I was not into reading. I hate thinking and let my mind free from the bustle and hustle world. Indeed, I was wrong. The way for me to escape from this world is not locking myself in the closet or burying my head into the sand. Instead, I should keep reading to search for the silver lining. The writer wrote that he studied history to free himself from the myth and conservative belief. Only learning the past enables us to better understand the shaping forces of today's world and grants us the freedom to set free from the ancient past.
