Let's not go too far. What's in it? The piece reminds us that sometimes we think followers count, but the followers never count because we choose what does not matter and make it matter. As in, we prioritise what is supposed to be prioritized.
What are we thinking? There is an obsession and pressure people mount on themselves when it comes to social media. The pressure on Twitter is even nicer, to be precise, as these people are bringing the follower count for financial purposes here. What about Instagram? And there is little to no meaningful message going on on such platforms.
What about TikTok? Another messed up element. To make it even worse, TikTok and YouTube call themselves video platforms. But the amount of education we have on YouTube, we have like, maybe you can equate it with a master's and PhD on YouTube.
TikTok, I don't know, maybe your brain will go back to secondary school, primary school, from higher education level. Yes. It practically rubs the brain and throws it into regression.
Yes, all these platforms are all algorithms. It's a fact. They are all algorithms.
It's so bad that the Chinese don't even use TikTok. They start using TikTok themselves. That platform is very different and very focused on technology, medicine, and science specifically.
What are we doing here? Basically, we view things here, on this same platform, this same Twitter, where certain ideology is being compressed and deleted silently. The algorithm is not just an algorithm to come together and have fun. No, it goes beyond that.
The algorithm sometimes becomes a political tool, a psychological weapon, on the long face. There is a lot. We need to sit down and review some of these things, actually.
