These things happen on a daily basis, and people now live in fear. Everyone is being careful with the places they visit, the kind of conversation they have, and who they are interacting with.
These days, there is not so much difference between civilians and security personnel. We are gradually getting used to insecurities. People are on guard, either for flight or for defence.
Security personnel are no longer reliable; it's as if those causing havoc in society are a terror to them as well. People are trying to survive, and as such, they think of their safety first before that of others.
A friend of mine was telling me about a recent robbery that happened close to their lodge. He said that when the robbers entered their target's room and began beating the boy, he cried audibly seeking help, but no one came to his rescue.
Funny enough, two of his neighbors are police officers actively in service, but they shut their doors and refused to step outside until the robbers left.
My friend was like, “Those police were selfish.” I laughed at him and told him that if he were in their shoes, he would have probably done the same.
With all these issues of insecurities, if we are assured a permanent and reliable protection, it would be nice.
And honestly, many people would go for it no matter what the conditions are like, provided it is reliable.
However, for someone like me, when the matter of privacy intrusion is involved as part of the condition, I would kindly decline the offer.
I am someone who loves my privacy; it's more like my safe zone. It's the place where my life feels better; I can't give it all up in the name of protection.
I can't imagine security agencies monitoring my movements, my conversations, and my life in general. I can't really have anything that I can say, “this is my secret.”
All my struggles, all my joy, all my pains, all my happiness would be known. Even those silly things I did that I wish for no one to know about would be known.
This doesn't look like help but a trap. It has its advantages; one can easily be tracked in the case of an emergency, yet I don't think it's enough for me to risk my privacy for it.
What if someone from the agency extracts my information secretly and leaks it?
With this kind of monitoring, you become vulnerable; your life will become something controlled by the government. You can't hide, you can't run; if anyone in the system doesn't like you and wants to terminate you, it would be as easy as anything.

Your progress and failure, which are supposed to be hidden until you are well established, would become open to those controlling the system. Your life won't be different from that of a robot.
Seriously, no matter how promising that security is, count me out; I prefer to keep my right to private life over anything else.
