If you are familiar with Pi Network and the Mobile mining via security circles then Bee can be referred as a copycat of Pi.
Bee Network is a new blockchain innovation that provides gamified experience for users to earn Bee, a cryptocurrency that you can mine on your mobile phone. By playing the roles of Miner, Referrer and Verifier, Bee Network players will earn rewards in Bees. In order to make Bee valuable, Bee Network is specially designed as a network consisting of genuine people which fosters players to exchange goods, service and expertise in real life with their Bee balance and eventually list Bee on major cryptocurrency exchanges for trading Bee with fiat money.
While that might look scammy at first for me is most like someone saw the potential of the Pi network and try to imitate it by improving it's funtions with a new improved Network version, in our case Bee. If you look their white papers (Pi and Bee) they're quite similar and the idea is pretty much the same, one thing that make worry it was that unlike with Pi that the core team and the Blockchain the app is based on is known (some Stanford dudes and Stellar Blockchain), Bee's info on that field is quite shaddy.
While was about to abandon this project, i found on their official Twitter someone with the same worries as me asking exactly what i had in my mind!
The answer came from them was somehow reassuring, saying that they will clarify everything in the near future, well i don't quite like it but ok, if they make things clear soon it's ok by me.
Now if you ask me if it's legit or not, i can only say that i don't know, nobody knows except the devs, like Pi the Bee Network might succed or might not.
If you decide to join and have your doubts, i suggest to do it with an old mobile device until they clarify everything about it.
