Some days feel like a little reset button. Today was one of those days. The beach showed its extreme side—it was colder than I've ever experienced it before. No soft sand, but an almost continuous ice landscape. The ground crunched under my shoes, and fascinating ice formations had formed everywhere, as if someone had artfully frozen the beach overnight. A little surreal, a little magical. There were hardly any people there. Exactly what you want on a day like this. Lots of peace and quiet, lots of space, just the sea, the cold, and my dog Ella, who, completely unimpressed by the temperatures, trudged across the beach as if this were her own personal winter paradise. While my fingers were slowly freezing, **she** was obviously having the time of her life. We walked a good 6 kilometers in total. The air was clear, bitterly cold, and that's exactly why it was so refreshing. Every breath felt like a thorough blow through my head. Thoughts almost sort themselves out at such temperatures. After the cold came the reward: warm, good food and time with Mom at Leo's. Inside, cozy, laughing – a perfect contrast to the icy walk before. It's this mixture that makes days like this special. In the end, you're left with a pleasant feeling of tiredness, fresh air in your lungs and peace in your mind. Sometimes you don't need sunshine and crowds of people.
