Forgiveness is one of the important characteristics of God. Learning how to forgive should be part of all Christians. Sometimes it's not always easy because we might be wrong so bitterly that we might find it hard to really forgive and it can hurt us so much.
The Bible has already told us that to forgive is divine. That if we allow anger to get over us, it can destroy our spirits and it can hold us from productivity as Christians. We are always called to forgive one another in faith. Christ has already told us to forgive.
In the book of Matthew 18:22-23, Peter had so many questions about forgiveness. He asked Jesus how many times he asked Jesus to forgive. Jesus answered that
we are expected to forgive seventy times seven. Then you can imagine the number of times. That means Jesus Christ wants us to forgive without counting or without limits.
This shows that we must always set boundaries. God wants us to forgive each other. Forgiveness does not mean that you I said that what I did is right. No. Forgiveness is when you are just willing to make peace within yourself. You are about to let all the bitterness go and you attempt to make peace with yourself and God and your spirits.
Our prayer also depends on our forgiveness. Jesus stated in Mark 11:25 that when we start to pray we must come with pure hearts and also pray that God will forgive us our own sins. Forgiving is very important in the life of every Christian and follower of Christ. We must be humble, we must pray and we're obedient to the word of God and forgiveness is one important characteristic of a Christian.
